Parking at Llandaff Campus
There is a severe shortage of parking on the Llandaff Campus, as 3 of UWIC’s 5 schools are based on that campus, as well as Central Administration. As a result, parking 9-5 on weekdays is very difficult.
There are several solutions:
• Public Transport - Buses run regularly to Llandaff. Bus numbers 24 and 25 serve Llandaff, and the UWIC rider also runs a regular service (U1 & U2). You can view the rider timetable here:
• Cycling - There are bike racks available on site free of charge. The Taff Trail runs adjacent to the campus.
• Walking - You can walk through Bute Park to the Llandaff Campus from the city centre through Bute Park/ Pontcanna fields and come out of the exit directly opposite UWIC Llandaff.
If you must bring a car, there are a few options available:
• Park and ride - There is a Park and Rice facility on the A48 at Pentwyn which will take you to the city centre.
• Howard Gardens – There is limited parking available at the Howard Gardens Campus in the city centre – you can park here and catch the UWIC rider or a Cardiff Bus to Llandaff. There are several large carparks in the city centre aside from Howard Gardens.
• Llandaff Village – There is a small carpark in Llandaff Village, adjacent to the community centre. However, this is a very busy spot during term time due to two nearby schools, so you will be lucky to find a space.
For further information, such as requesting a prospectus or booking your attendance at an open day, register on the UWIC VIP web page.
At Cardiff School of Art & Design, we believe in being at the top of our game and that includes being able to deliver programmes that really make a difference. We give our students every opportunity to explore all kinds of creative and professional possibilities, in an environment that recognises the importance of taking risks and seizing the initiative. We are interested in ideas and how these are examined through practice.
